I absolutely love this game, and more importantly, so does my 2 1/2-year-old granddaughter. The instructions provide various ways to play, allowing the game to adapt as she grows. We reinforce concepts like colors, shapes, and counting, as well as taking turns and tidying up—her favorite part. Often, she just wants to take all the pieces out, arrange them with her own little logic, and then carefully return them to the box while naming the shapes and colors or counting them. Everything at Grandma’s house is educational, and playing this game together is her favorite thing to do. Her parents are always amazed that she chooses this simple game over her fancy electronic toys.

This was my first experience dealing with the remarkable Amazon Company.

This game is a delightful and straightforward option for toddlers! I often bring it out when my kids need some quality time with me instead of playing with trains or reading the same book again. It’s a quick 5-10 minute Haba game that really fills their love cup! My 2-year-old daughter always chooses it first. We’ve started with the basic wooden shapes, and I think the sturdy cardboard puzzle shapes will provide a nice challenge for her when she’s ready for more. We also enjoy Haba’s First Orchard game! They create high-quality board games that serve as a fantastic introduction to gameplay.

I’ve purchased this game twice for different sets of nieces and nephews, and they all absolutely love it. Our extended family enjoys more complex German-style board games (like Settlers of Catan), and it doesn’t take long for the younger ones to want to join in. Haba has done an excellent job with the wooden dice and shape pieces. The boards for placing the shapes are very sturdy, made from thick, nearly indestructible compressed cardboard. Kids can find ways to play on their own, but the game also comes with rules that you can gradually teach to toddlers. It helps reinforce color and shape recognition while promoting cooperative play and fine motor skills. It’s best suited for children under 6, and I highly recommend it!

Purchased twice for two different sets of nieces and nephews. They all love it. Our extended family plays a lot of the more complex German-style board games (Settlers of Catan, etc) and it doesn’t take long for the little ones to want to play games. Haba does it right here with wooden dice and wooden shape pieces. The boards for placing the shapes are very thick, nearly indestructible compressed cardboard. Children can find ways to play with the game by themselves, but it does have actual rules for play that you can slowly teach to toddlers. Reinforces color and shape recognition as well as encouraging cooperative play and fine muscle coordination. Best for under age 6. Highly recommend!

What a fun and simple game for your toddler! I usually pull out this game when my children need some one on one time with mom instead of having to play choo choo trains or read a book for the hundredth time that week. Just a quick 5-10 minute Haba game to fill their love cup! It’s the first game my 2yr old daughter picks each time. We have started out with the simple plain wood shapes and I feel that the sturdy cardboard type puzzle shapes will be a nice challenge for her when she’s ready for the next step. We also have Haba’s First Orchard game and love it too! They make good quality board games that are a wonderful introduction to game play.
