Don’t pay attention to the comments about the QR code issues; the servers were down for about an hour on day one, likely due to high traffic! This is the best ‘advent calendar’ I’ve ever encountered. I expected a simple daily puzzle, but it’s much more than that and incredibly well designed. It starts with an engaging story, which adds an extra layer of involvement, even if you can choose to skip it. While solving the puzzles, you’ll need to use your phone or device to scan a QR code to submit your answers, and hints are available if you get stuck. Once you answer correctly, you receive a number that will be useful for later puzzles.

The animations and graphics are top-notch, and it doesn’t feel like a rushed or low-quality product. The puzzles I’ve encountered so far are logic-based, unique, and really make you think outside the box… or, in my case, overthink on day two face palm. It would be quite unfair for the temporary QR code issue to overshadow the remarkable effort and execution of this book. If you enjoy logic puzzles and want something different as Christmas approaches, don’t miss out on this one.

My friends and I attempted to solve the first clue today for December 1, but the QR code isn’t functional; the website appears to be completely down, and I can’t find it through Google. It’s really disappointing because I expected that all the problems from last year would have been resolved, especially since previous reviews mentioned the same issue. There’s also no way to reach out to the creators.

Apparently they were hacked on day 1 and so for some people the QR code didn’t work, it was fine for me and I have submitted all my answers no problem. I am quite enjoying the book, the story seems interesting and quite topical to society today.

The puzzles are quite difficult and challenging, requiring at least some knowledge in the area the puzzle is based on, the internet can be helpful.

My friends and i worked out the first clue today for December 01 but the QR code doesnt work; the website seems fully down and when i google the website i cant find it.
Its so dissapointing because i thought that surely all the issues from last year would have been ironed out since the reviews from last year had the same issue. No way to contact the authors either :/

Don’t let the negative reviews about the QR code discourage you; it started working the following day! We were initially disappointed when we couldn’t access the QR code on the first day and thought it was broken, but by the next day, it was active again, and the creators sent a nice message explaining the issue. We suspected they might have been overwhelmed by their own success, and I regret asking for a refund right away due to my initial disappointment. Stick with it—the puzzles have been fantastic so far, offering just the right amount of challenge without being frustrating, as hints are available if you’re stuck, just like in a real escape room! It’s a wonderful alternative to a chocolate advent calendar and provides great family fun!

It seems they were hacked right from the start, which caused the QR code to malfunction for some users. However, I had no issues and was able to submit all my answers without a hitch. I’m really enjoying the book; the story is engaging and relevant to today’s society. The puzzles are quite tough and require some knowledge of the subject matter, but the internet can be a useful resource.

Don’t be put off by the reviews saying it’s rubbish because the QR code doesn’t work, It started working the next day! Yes, we were disappointed when we couldn’t access the QR code on day 1 and thought it didnt work, but the next day it was active again and the creators wrote a nice message to explain what had happened. We had wondered if they had been a victim of their own success and couldn’t cope with demand, I am sorry now that I had already requested a refund immediately due to being disappointed. So stick with it, the puzzles so far have been great, enough of a challenge, but not frustratingly so, as you can get hints if you’re stuck, just as in a real escape room! Great alternative to a chocolate adventure calendar, and great family fun!

Ignore comments about the QR code not working, the servers just went down for an hour or so on day 1, probably due a high level of activity!

The best ‘advent calendar’ I’ve ever had. I thought it was just going to be an individual puzzle a day type thing, but it’s not and it’s incredibly well thought out. Sets up with an initial story, which I guess you can take it or leave it, but I think it adds another level of engagement. Whilst solving the puzzles you need to use your phone / device to scan a QR code, this is then used for entering your answer and there are also hints available if you need them. Once you have a correct answer you’re then given a number which will later be used in further puzzles.

The animations / graphics are of a high quality and it doesn’t feel like a cheaply, rushed together effort.

The puzzles (so far) are logic based, unique and make you think outside of the box… or my in case, overthink, on day 2 *face palm*.

I think it would be very harsh and unfair if the QR code not working for a short amount time were to overshadow the effort and execution of this book. If you like logic puzzles and fancy something different on the lead up to Christmas, don’t pass on this one.
