Brilliant wee game. I have a 1 and 3 year old and they both enjoy playing this. Very engaging for the older one who loves his vehicles. Good quality, very colourful and just an all round fun family game.

We have many Orchard Toys games at home, and my kids love them all, including Mucky Trucks! With my four-year-old starting school this year, this game has been incredibly helpful in reinforcing his number recognition, counting skills, color vocabulary, and essential listening and turn-taking abilities. We’ve seen a significant boost in his confidence with numbers over the past few weeks, and he now instantly recognizes the number he rolls.
Players roll the dice, move the friendly elephant the number of spaces indicated, and then ‘scrub’ clean the truck that matches the color they land on. This part is especially fun for them! They even engage in role play, pretending to clean their own trucks. If you land on a mud splat, you have to make one of your trucks muddy again, which is such a fun concept that both kids handle it well without any tantrums.
I initially thought it might be too simple for my seven-year-old, but she enjoys it as well because the gameplay is unpredictable and cleverly designed—one moment you could be close to winning, and the next, you have several mucky trucks again.
It was genuinely fun and exciting for us parents too (which isn’t often the case with many simple preschool games), and we’ve found ourselves playing it most nights after dinner this week. Overall, five stars—highly recommended!

We have loads of Orchard Toys games at home, all of which my children really enjoy, and Mucky Trucks was no exception!
My four year old starts school this year so we’ve found this to be an incredibly helpful game for reinforcing his number recognition, counting skills, colour vocabulary and, of course, all important listening and turn taking skills. We’ve seen his confidence in number recognition improve hugely over the last couple of weeks and he now recognises which number he’s rolled instantly.
Players roll the dice, move the friendly elephant the number of spaces shown, and then ‘scrub’ clean the truck which matches the colour they land on. They particularly love this last part! And both naturally role play pretending they are cleaning their own trucks. If you land on a mud splat you have to make one of your trucks muddy again which, because it’s such a fun idea, both children accept really well with no tantrums or meltdowns :-).
It thought it might be a little too simplistic for my seven year old but she enjoys it too because the game play is quite unpredictable and very well thought out i.e. one minute you can be close to winning, and the next you’ve got lots of mucky trucks again.
It was actually really fun and exciting for us parents too (which can’t be said for a lot of simple pre-school games!) and we’ve found ourselves getting it out most nights after dinner this week.
Overall five stars – would highly recommend!

Muddy Trucks has been a brilliant addition to our Orchard Toys collective. A simple game to set up, including one elephant piece that moves around the colourful board on the roll of a dice and coloured truck cards in front of each player.
It’s very clever in its simplicity and my 3-yr old, now 4, picked it up pretty quickly. Just learning how to take turns, accept losses, persistence and humility in winning have been game changers for us in real life, assisted by Orchard Toys.
We started playing with our son a year ago, age 3. At first, he would have tantrums on losing and not want to play any more. We have persisted and now, he can do all the above (apart from being humble in winning as he stands on the sofa and poses like Superman before running around shouting out his victory to one and all) and it’s a joy to play games.
With just one child, taking turns comes hard and games such as this are excellent at developing social skills such as sharing.
The concept of your own cards of dirty trucks that need to be cleaned by turning them over and saying the phrase “Splish Splosh, nice and clean” as you pretend to wipe them with the sponge card has held the attention of my son and friends well. Even my husband, who has the 7-second attention span of a goldfish picked this up really quickly and stayed engaged for 3-4 rounds.
The games are quick and not monotonous for adults or older children as we regularly play together with cousins age 8 and 10. Development of number and colour recognition is great for pre-school. This is one of the more simple Orchard Toy games, so, good for 3-5 yrs.
One downside is our car is regularly left filthy as our son “cleans” it on a regular basis by dragging a wet sponge around the dirty panels and hub caps then using this same sponge to “clean” all the windows; “Splish, Splosh, nice and clean”. Grrrrr
I would recommend this game to anyone with 3-5 year olds but keep your car and sponges well hidden.

Muddy Trucks has been a fantastic addition to our Orchard Toys collection. It’s a straightforward game to set up, featuring one elephant piece that moves around the vibrant board based on dice rolls and colored truck cards in front of each player. Its simplicity is quite clever, and my now 4-year-old grasped it quickly. Learning to take turns, handle losses, and embrace humility in victory have been transformative for us, thanks to Orchard Toys.
We began playing with our son a year ago when he was 3. Initially, he would throw tantrums when he lost and didn’t want to continue. However, we’ve stayed persistent, and now he can manage all those emotions (except for humility in winning—he tends to stand on the sofa, pose like Superman, and shout his victory to everyone). Playing games has become a joy.
With just one child, taking turns can be challenging, but games like this are excellent for developing social skills such as sharing. The idea of having your own cards of dirty trucks that need cleaning, accompanied by the phrase “Splish Splosh, nice and clean” while pretending to wipe them with the sponge card, has captivated my son and his friends. Even my husband, who usually has a very short attention span, quickly picked it up and stayed engaged for multiple rounds.
The games are quick and engaging for both adults and older children, as we often play with cousins who are 8 and 10. It also helps develop number and color recognition, making it great for preschoolers. This game is one of the simpler Orchard Toy offerings, making it suitable for ages 3-5.
One downside is that our car often ends up dirty because our son enjoys “cleaning” it by dragging a wet sponge over the grimy panels and hubcaps, then using the same sponge to “clean” all the windows while shouting “Splish, Splosh, nice and clean.” Grrrrr.
I would recommend this game to anyone with 3-5-year-olds, but be sure to keep your car and sponges well out of reach.

Fantastic little game! My 1 and 3-year-old both love playing it. It’s especially captivating for my older one, who is a big fan of vehicles. The quality is excellent, it’s vibrant, and overall, it’s a super fun game for the whole family.
