This is a delightful card game that my 10-year-old absolutely enjoys. As avid board gamers, he’s accustomed to more intricate games (like worker placement and engine builders), but I thought this would be a nice, quick, and easy game to play. It’s been a lot of fun; we’ve played it three times in one session! It’s a ‘take that’ game with player elimination, but it’s not as harsh as Munchkin or Exploding Kittens. The lenticular cards feature dark humor as you eliminate the beans. My son adores the cartoon illustrations, and it’s perfect for a quick play session to get kids off their devices. The photo shows the least gruesome ‘you died’ card I could find, but it has a cartoonish tone with ‘beans’ instead of people, which we appreciate. We’re definitely keeping this one since our non-gamer friends find the rules straightforward, and the artwork is fantastic. We even played it with Grandma, who found it entertaining, especially when her grandson accidentally wiped out her beans. Plus, it accommodates up to 5 players, making it suitable for larger groups. The lenticular cards may warp over time, but that seems common and doesn’t impact gameplay. The quality is impressive, featuring a linen finish on the playing cards, a custom die, and a molded cardboard (not plastic) insert, which was a pleasant surprise.
