A Nostalgic Journey into the Power Rangers Universe

This first volume of “Mighty Morphin Power Rangers” is a delightful trip down memory lane for long-time fans and an exciting introduction for newcomers. The storyline picks up shortly after the iconic Green With Evil saga, breathing new life into the characters and their adventures in a modern context.

Engaging Storytelling

Writer Kyle Higgins does a remarkable job of fleshing out the character of Tommy Oliver, the Green Ranger, as he navigates the complexities of high school life while grappling with the remnants of Rita Repulsa’s mind control. The emotional depth added to Tommy’s character is commendable, and it makes his journey toward redemption all the more compelling. The inclusion of Bulk and Skull as video bloggers adds a fun twist, showcasing their evolution from typical bullies to enterprising characters, which brings a fresh dynamic to the story.

Stunning Artwork

The artwork by Hendry Prasetya is nothing short of gorgeous. The vibrant colors and dynamic action scenes perfectly capture the essence of the original series while providing a contemporary flair. Each panel is visually striking, making it a joy to flip through the pages. The illustrations truly bring the action to life and complement the well-written dialogue.

Nostalgia and Modernization

As someone who grew up watching the Power Rangers, reading this comic filled me with nostalgia. I could almost hear the iconic sounds of the show as I turned the pages. The series does an excellent job of staying true to its roots, while also giving it a modern twist that appeals to both old and new fans alike. The behind-the-scenes glimpses into the characters’ lives during the first season are particularly captivating.

Final Thoughts

This volume is a fantastic read that I would highly recommend to anyone who has ever enjoyed the Power Rangers. Whether you’re an old-school fan or a new reader, this comic offers an exciting narrative filled with heart, action, and nostalgia. I can’t wait for Volume 2!

This series is an excellent read from beginning to end, taking place shortly after the legendary Green With Evil storyline from the first season of MMPR but reimagined in a contemporary setting. The artwork is fantastic, and I appreciate the added depth it brings to the Rangers as they adapt to a new teammate facing his own challenges. Meanwhile, Bulk and Skull transition from typical bullies to ambitious video bloggers hosting a show about the Power Rangers. It’s a delightful read, and I can’t help but envision the characters delivering their lines just like the original show’s actors.
